| This is the first Bargello I ever did. It was started by Cheryl Gallagher in the early 90s, who decided to let me do the strip piecing techique which I love to do in trade for a Sunbonnet Sue Sampler that she would hand applique and quilt for me (her areas of expertise). It was quilted by Joe Corsten of the Silver Thimble Quilt Shoppe. This and a smaller companion piece grace her living room and dining room walls. She has such a great eye for color. When I saw the lucious colors she had picked out, I said I would learn the technique just to work with her those beautiful colors. It was a labor of love and one of my most treasured accomplishments. It is a great focal point that grabs your eye as you walk into her living room. |
