Going there was a little uncomfortable because there had been some problems in that area with kidnapping of foreigners for ransom. Fortunately, we had no problems and enjoyed a day of celebration and colorful ethnic costumes.

festival in Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. Sassari was a larger city an hour or
two south of where my ship was located along the northern coast of Sardinia.
